In order to obtain landing permits, a South Africa Foreign Operator Permit is required for all type of flights. This is the case except for non-scheduled, non-commercial flights (private flights).

South Africa Landing Permit:

For private flights, a landing permit application should be submitted 03 working days prior to the flight operation date. The following documents are also mandatory requirements to support the application:

1. Registration certificate
2. Airworthiness Certificate
3. Maintenance to release of service certificate
4. Insurance certificate
5. RVSM status of this aircraft
6. Noise Certificate

South Africa Foreign Operator Permit:

Furthermore, for non-scheduled commercial flights, operators have to apply for a South Africa Foreign Operator Permit, which would take 07 working days.

Furthermore, to apply for a South Africa Foreign Operator Permit, the following documents have to be submitted:

  1. A fully completed TV 2/297 application form – initialized on all pages
  2. A fully completed SACAA form
  3. A payment of R500.00 for a new application/ R250.00 for an amendment (South African Rands)

  4. Aircraft documents certified by a commissioner of oaths
